Description

Retail Trade Association of Kenya (RETRAK) is a non-political, non-partisan and non-profit-making organization dedicated to the service of its members. RETRAK has 120 entities representing over 600 outlets that are comprised of retailers. RETRAK aims to be an authoritative and trusted voice for the Kenyan retailer. It works to represent and empower the Kenyan retailer to reach their full potential and is guided by the values of integrity, service to members, commitment, fairness and collaboration with members and amongst members. One of the key outcomes for the business advocacy fund was to see whether the Business Member Organizations (BMOs) and Civil Service Organizations have developed effective working relationships with public sector policymakers. Monitoring of private-public partnerships of BMOs with Ministries, Departments and Agencies was undertaken. The report sought to determine their success and challenges over a year and provide recommendations to enhance joint advocacy projects where they undertake research, prepare policy proposals or pursue changes in public policy.
